The 1 May 2011 the Beatification and Canonization of Pope Joan Paul II took place in Rome. More then one million of
devout pilgrims reach the city for the event. Many of them came from Poland. People gathered around San Pietro from the
day before. The event began with the Prayer Vigil at Circo Massimo. After the Vigil, during all the night, the devout
pilgrims gathered in Via della Conciliazione, cueing for more then 10 hours to reach San Pietro. Some of them preferred
to wait out of the rush and to sleep wherever. During the night The Knighthood of Jesus Christ The King coming from
Poland has been celebrating the ritual of the investiture on Ponte Vittorio Emanuele. All the day after was necessary to
move along all the pilgrims mass.
